Why Dromo

WE KNOW THIS INDUSTRY
FROM THE INSIDE

Most brokers have never touched a steering wheel. We have. Our founder drove semi trucks and ran operations before building Dromo — that’s not a selling point, that’s the whole point.

Road Tested

We have sat in the cab. We understand your operation, your risks, and what coverage actually matters on the road.

Same-Day Coverage

We move fast so you can move freight. New authority or renewal — most clients are bound and rolling the same day.

Market Shopping

We shop your risk across 5+ top-rated carriers — Cover Whale, Progressive, Canal, Northland, Markel — to find the best rate.

Georgia Based

Cherokee County, GA. A local agency that picks up the phone — licensed to serve carriers across the Southeast and nationally.

Our Market Access

WE SHOP THE WHOLE MARKET
SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO

We work with a wide network of A-rated commercial trucking carriers. That means we can find the right fit for your specific operation — not just whoever will take the account.

Multiple Carriers

We hold appointments across a broad network of commercial trucking carriers and can place most account types with more than one option.

Right Fit, Not Just Any Fit

Not every carrier works for every account type. We know who writes what — new authority, specialty haulers, fleets — and we match you to the right market.

Competitive Pricing

Because we shop multiple markets, you get real rate competition — not a single quote dressed up as a deal. We work to find you the best combination of price and coverage.

A-Rated Security

Every carrier we place business with is A-rated or better. Your coverage is only as good as the company behind it — we make sure that foundation is solid.

Coverage Options

WE COVER WHAT YOU OPERATE

From owner operators to specialty haulers — if it requires a DOT number, we have a solution. Below is the full range of coverage lines we write.

Primary Liability

Federally required. Covers bodily injury and property damage you cause to others.

Physical Damage

Comprehensive and collision coverage for your truck and trailer.

Motor Truck Cargo

Covers the freight you haul against loss, damage, or theft in transit.

Occupational Accident

On-the-job injury protection for 1099 owner operators.

General Liability

Protects your business from third-party claims off the road.

Non-Trucking Liability

Bobtail and deadhead coverage when operating outside of dispatch.

New Authority

Specialized coverage for carriers just getting started with a new MC number.

Trailer Interchange

Covers non-owned trailers in your care under a trailer interchange agreement.

COVERED IN THREE STEPS

Getting insured shouldn’t be a second job. Our process is built for people who don’t have time to waste.

01

02
Step 02

We Shop Your Risk

We run your information across our carrier network. You get a real comparison of options — coverage levels, deductibles, and premiums — from someone who can explain what each one actually means.

03
Step 03

Get Bound and Get Rolling

Choose your coverage, sign the application, and get your certificates of insurance. Most clients are covered the same day. We’ll handle the filing with FMCSA when required.

What Clients Say

FROM THE ROAD

★★★★★

Got my new authority set up and insured the same day. Alex knows his stuff and didn’t try to oversell me on coverage I didn’t need. Straight shooter all the way.

MJ
Marcus J.
Owner Operator — Atlanta, GA
★★★★★

Switched my 8-truck fleet to Dromo last year. Better rates than my old agency and they actually pick up the phone when I call. That matters when you’re running freight.

DT
Darlene T.
Fleet Owner — Cherokee County, GA
★★★★★

Other brokers treated me like a number. Dromo explained my policy in plain English and made sure I understood exactly what I was buying. That means a lot as a new driver.

Common Questions

WHAT CARRIERS WANT TO KNOW

If you’re new to commercial trucking insurance or just shopping around, here are the questions we hear most.

How much does trucking insurance cost?
It depends on your operation — commodity, radius, equipment value, and driving record all factor in. Owner operators typically run $8,000–16,000/year for primary liability. The best way to know is to get a quote. We can usually turn one around same-day.
Can I get insured with a new authority?
Yes. We specialize in new authority carriers. You’ll need your MC/DOT number and some basic operational info. We work with carriers who write new authority and can get you bound before your first load.
What is primary liability and why do I need it?
Primary liability covers bodily injury and property damage you cause to others while operating your truck. It’s federally required for any motor carrier — minimum $750,000 for general freight, $5M for hazmat. Without it, you can’t legally move freight.
What’s the difference between physical damage and cargo insurance?
Physical damage covers your truck and trailer if they’re damaged or totaled. Cargo insurance covers the freight you’re hauling if it’s lost, stolen, or damaged in transit. Most brokers and shippers require both.
Do I need non-trucking liability (bobtail)?
If you’re an owner operator leased to a motor carrier, their primary coverage usually only applies while you’re under dispatch. Non-trucking liability (NTL) fills the gap when you’re driving for personal use or deadheading without a load.
How fast can I get a certificate of insurance?
Once you’re bound, we can typically issue certificates the same day. If you need FMCSA filings (Form E or BMC-91), those go out within 24 hours. We move fast because we know your loads don’t wait.
What is occupational accident insurance?
Occupational accident (occ/acc) is a cost-effective alternative to workers’ compensation for 1099 owner operators. It covers on-the-job injuries, lost income while you’re off the road, and accidental death benefits — without the cost of a full WC policy.
Do you cover fleets or just single trucks?
Both. We write coverage for single owner operators all the way up to fleets of 50+ units. Fleet pricing and coverage structures are different — we’ll put together a program that fits your size and operation.
